Dear Members,
As the days grow longer, we hope you've all enjoyed a refreshing start to spring – perhaps with some quality time alongside family and friends. It's a joy to connect with our incredible community during this vibrant season!
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Technical Advisory Committee, we are thrilled to share some exciting updates. We've dedicated the past couple of months to setting pricing and finalizing the schedule for this year's National Festival. Our shared aim was to launch registrations as soon as possible, making it easier for everyone to plan and join us for these exciting events.
We are delighted to announce that, after careful analysis by the Finance Committee, we are holding prices steady at last year's levels for both the National Festival and Moment with the Masters/Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa. In these times of rising inflation, fuel costs, and travel expenses—factors beyond our control—we're committed to doing what we can to ease the load and ensure our events remain welcoming for all. Holding the line on pricing is the right choice, and we're grateful for your continued partnership in making our traditions thrive.
The 2026 National Festival promises to be a truly “elevated” experience. Nestled in the heart of Salt Lake City, there is much to see and experience during your stay. Explore the surrounding Wasatch mountains, Antelope Island, The Great Salt Lake or enjoy the culture of the city including Temple Square and a variety of local eateries and gathering places. The Festival itself will be packed full of training opportunities, competition, a celebration banquet, golf outing and plenty of time to connect with Moo Duk Kwan friends and family. Whether this is your first Nationals or your annual tradition we look forward to spending time with you!
Registration for the National Festival and Moment with the Masters / Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa will be open within the next week! [National Festival | MWM/KDJSS] We can't wait to see your positive energy light up these gatherings—your enthusiasm truly brings our Moo Do Values to life.
In preparation for the National Festival, please see the summary of the schedule HERE.
Requesting all interested Dan members who would like to assist in JUDGING during the Festival please SIGN UP HERE. TAC will be hosting a Zoom Judging Seminar within the next few months. Those who register to judge will be invited to attend this Zoom session to strengthen your judging skills.
In keeping with tradition, the Foundation will once again host a golf outing [2nd Annual Cort Stinehour Sa Bom Nim Memorial Golf Outing and Dinner] for interested members on Wednesday, July 15th. Those who wish to participate in either the Golf Outing and/or Dinner may REGISTER HERE. This was an amazing event last year with fun had by all – highly recommended.
Lastly, Virtual Nationals registration is live and buzzing, with the video submission deadline approaching quickly (May 1st). If you haven't already, we warmly encourage you to join in (SIGN UP HERE)—it's a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your skills and build momentum for the in-person excitement at the Festival in July. Every participation strengthens our community and inspires us all.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your unwavering support. Together, we're creating unforgettable moments and celebrating the spirit of Moo Do. Let's make this year shine!
In Moo Duk Kwan,
Jen Rupert, BOD Chair
Josh Lockwood, TAC Chair
