Cort Stinehour Sa Bom Nim 1968-2024

Cort Stinehour Sa Bom Nim 1968-2024

Greetings Fellow Moo Duk Kwan Practioners,

It is with a heavy heart that we reach out today.

The Moo Duk Kwan family lost a true Moo Do In with the passing of Cort Stinehour Sa Bom Nim on the evening of September 30th, 2024.

Stinehour Sa Bom Nim lived the principles of our Moo Duk Kwan Philosophy in all that he did. He was a loyal, dedicated keeper of the Art and his presence will be forever felt.

In all of life; as a husband, father, teacher, mentor and friend inside the Do Jang and out, Stinehour Sa Bom Nim embodied love, commitment, sincere effort, laughter, relationship building and ensured a sense of community. One only has to look at Facebook today to see just how much impact he had on people and communities worldwide. His ability to connect and bring people together was just one of his many strengths.

Let us all take a moment to reflect on his service as an Instructor, School Owner, Board Director, Regional Examiner, Heritage Program Liaison and as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee. His contributions have helped make the U.S. Federation and Moo Duk Kwan what it is today. Please find a moment of silence to send healing and comforting thoughts to his wife (Mary Kate Stinehour Sa Bom Nim), his sons (Brandon and Christian) as well as his students and friends across the globe.

As we move forward, may the life of Cort Stinehour Sa Bom Nim be a beacon to all of us to be our best selves, to continue to grow and cherish our relationships with each other and to work together to strengthen our Federation and Moo Duk Kwan as was his life's work and mission.

Funeral service will be held Saturday October 5, 2024 at Loucks Funeral Home
12-3 pm visitation
3 pm - Celebration of Life - a time of sharing, for those who would like to speak at the service.

His family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Foundation or Venmo  ussbdmdkf

My heart is heavy with the loss of Cort Stinehour Sa Bom Nim. Over the past three years our friendship grew deeper with each interaction with each other. I will never forget the first time we discovered we had common interests including motorcycles and weight-lifting. I felt intimidated and motivated at the same time when he shared his lifting techniques. He encouraged me to do better. I recall the times we would see each other at regional and national everts. We would examine each others’ do bolks and tell each other that our muscles were stretching our uniforms at the seams. He always created a welcoming environment with his presence. I will miss my dear friend. Rest in Peace Cort.
