“Move that United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation shall provide free membership for all active U.S. military personnel (all branches and reserves) and their household members who enroll in a Certified Studio or Certified Teaching Program and submit a membership application in accordance with Federation guidelines effective September 1, 2011. The U.S. Military Membership Program shall continue until modified or cancelled by the Board of Directors. Motion passed unanimously. 08/24/2011”
U.S. Federation members have awarded up to $20,000 annually in complimentary Military memberships & other hardships and scholarships.

Louis Barrier Wenatchee War Veteran Resumes Soo Bahk Do Training At Age 83 and is striving to earn a black belt in the Korean karate discipline of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan, becoming one of the oldest people in the Northwest region to do so.

During the 08/24/2011 meeting of the 501c4 Board of Directors of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation, the Board accepted and adopted the U.S. Military Membership Program as proposed by Sa Bom Nim Bill Nelson of the Technical Advisory and author of "Your Weapon Within."
Sa Bom Nim Bill Nelson proposed the Federation offer free memberships to all military personnel in recognition of their service to our country and that Certified Studio Owners be encouraged to consider offering free or discounted training opportunities to Military Personnel for the same reason.
