Board Welcomes New And Continuing Directors

Greetings and Happy New Year Federation Members and Supporters,

I trust this finds you and your families in the best of health and spirits as we look forward to what opportunities may be available in 2021.  

At the end of 2020, five Board of Directors had completed their term and those seats were available for either re-election or new directors.

For those who served as directors in 2020 and earlier, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to your leadership and resolve as we served our membership throughout a year like no other. Through your efforts and service, many accomplishments were made even as unfamiliar challenges arose.

The following are the results of the 2020 Board elections as verified by the Board Secretary, Jen Rupert Sa Bom Nim.  Please join me in congratulating them in their new or continued role in service to the members of the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation^®.

• Region 2 – John Kim SBN
• Region 3 – Cheyenne Smith Master
• Region 6 – Dwayne Townsend SBN
• Region 9 – Ernie Medina SBN – Chair Appointed *
• Region 10 – Chuck Holland SBN

*Region 9 had no nominations for the director role, so I appointed Ernie Medina SBN after a discussion with him regarding the role and responsibilities of Board Director.  Medina SBN has business and board experience that can be beneficial in regards to ideas and insight to decisions that our Board of Directors face.  I believe he along with the other elected directors will be a valuable asset to their prospective regions and to the membership as a whole.

With your continued support, we can all make 2021 another historic year for the Moo Duk Kwan.

Dwayne Townsend currently serves as the Board Chair and also as the Board representative elected by United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation® members in Region 6. Townsend Sa Bom Nim has also been appointed by the TAC Chair as a Regional Examiner for Region 6 of the United States So Bahk Do Moo Duk KWan Federation®.  He is an internationally certified 5th Dan practitioner and a certified master instructor (Sa Bom) of the Soo Bahk Do® martial art system taught in Moo Duk Kwan® schools worldwide.
